While in-game, when you enable it for the first time, the improvement in fluidity is immediately noticeable. I have only positive things to say about this mod and it couldn't be easier to implement. At 30 FPS the cars behave more like front-wheel drive vehicles and have the tendancy to under-steer. The fact that driving at 30 FPS is much choppier in comparison aside, steering in 60 FPS mode is closer to how a rear-wheel drive car would behave (and I found it easier to take sharp turns). That said, I happen to like the way the cars handle in 60 FPS mode much better. That's apparently due to trying to run the game at beyond 60 FPS, so if that happens, try enabling V-Sync (assuming your refresh rate is 60Hz).ĮDIT: I just compared driving at 30 FPS to 60 FPS and I see now what people are talking about when they say driving is different. But no matter how I try, Cole just pick up the pencil and put it down immediately once I click.īesides the easily bypassable "pencil bug", I have seen it mentioned that driving physics and facial animations can be adversely affected (although I did not experience any problems in those areas). This is the case "The Setup", I am supposed to be able to shade the notepad to review a location name. When done, press * again to go back into 60 FPS mode. Doing so will enable you to use the pencil to find the clue. To fix that, simply temporarily disable Widescreen Fixer by pressing the * key, which will trigger the game to go back to 30 FPS. The problem is that while in 60 FPS mode, Cole will pickup the pencil and immediately set it back down, preventing you from finding the clue. In one part of the case you need to use a pencil on a notepad to obtain a clue. I ran into the first bug related to running the game at 60 FPS during Vice Case "The Setup". To do so, go to Steam > Settings > In-Game. If you don't have it turned on already, you may want to use Steam's "In-game FPS Counter" so that you can easily confirm the FPS while in-game. Minimize Widescreen Fixer, start the game, and press the hotkey (default is * on the Number Pad) to enable or disable the fix. Press the configure button (gear) and configure the plugin to use the "59.940 FPS Cap".Ĥ. Start Widescreen Fixer and select the game you wish to play. Download the main application and extract it to its own directory.Ģ. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86 and/or 圆4)ġ. Widescreen Fixer runs in the System Tray and must be running at the same time the game is. I mention that because prior to using it I assumed that it might be, but such is not the case. Using this program the game executable file is not modified. Please read the Anti-Cheat Disclaimer on the Widescreen Fixer website prior to using it with any game that has an Anti-Cheat system (certain Multiplayer games).ģ. I'm simply a satisfied user of it and can confirm that it has worked so far for me without fail. I take no credit whatsoever for this program. I want to mention three quick points before you get started:ġ. It is free of charge, although you have the option to donate if you'd like. The program you will be installing to make this possible, should you choose to do so, is called "Widescreen Fixer".
